May brings Mother’s Day on the 12th, so get ready to celebrate mothers, grandmothers and all the important mother figures in your life. There’s no time like Mother’s Day to show that you care, and this Mother’s Day, why not give the gift of an experience or activity to celebrate the day? Saskatoon and Regina have great options for things to do on Mother’s Day that are sure to show your appreciation with tons of fun and quality time.

Saskatoon: A City Made for Moms

The Prairie Lily: Starting in May, the beautiful Prairie Lily will begin cruising down the South Saskatchewan River again, and now’s your chance to book this enchanting ride. Options for cruises include a sightseeing cruise, an evening and dinner cruise, and a Sunday brunch cruise. If not on Mother’s Day, this experience just might be the perfect gift idea!

SSO Mother’s Day Concert: On Mother’s Day at 2 p.m., the Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra is hosting a concert at Convocation Hall at the University of Saskatchewan. Tickets start at $20 and the musical lineup is set to include charming chamber music, including a string quartet.

Plant Life Workshop: Book an interactive Plant Life workshop for all the women in your life as a way to spend time together and learn something new. As a bonus, you’ll each take home your own DIY planter. You can book a workshop at their studio or request a party if you’re in the Saskatoon area — they’ll bring the workshop to you!

The Berry Barn: Mother’s Day is one of the Berry Barn’s biggest days of the year, and this year they’re celebrating with a specialty brunch and dinner menu, with Saskatoon Berry Pie for dessert, of course! Mother’s Day is also the opening day of their greenhouses for the season, making the Berry Barn a perfect stop for food and a garden browse.

Sit on their patio enjoying locally-made wine, take an orchard and winery tour, or give the gift of one of their private Supper in the Orchard evenings, which is a multi-course dinner event featuring local chefs and orchard ingredients.

They have pottery workshops on Saturdays in May, or if you know the pottery drill, visit them at their Open Clay Studio times.
