Halloween Events in Regina & Saskatoon
Chilly weather and snow hit early this year, a reminder that winter is on its way. But there’s time for one more exciting fall event — Halloween! For kids, it’s a time of costumes, treats and trick-or-treating, but it can also be an opportunity for people of all ages to have some fun. Check out these events in Regina and Saskatoon that are perfect for family fun, a date night, or even a girls’ night out.
Halloween Fun in Regina
Wascana Centre events: Wascana is hosting two Halloween events this year, including their annual Wascana Spooktacular. This free event on October 19 is a Halloween-themed nature program and includes a haunted house, games and crafts. Then on November 1, for the first year ever, they are also hosting the Pumpkin Way event, which is a great chance to stroll through the park enjoying the city’s best and brightest jack-o-lanterns. If you want your jack-o-lantern to be part of the display, you can drop off your pumpkin the day of. Costumes are encouraged for both events!
The Office Halloween Trivia: On October 29, head to the Canadian Brewhouse for The Office trivia, hosted by Tipsy Trivia. There will be 50 questions that if answered correctly, could win your team a ton of The Office swag. The questions are all centred on Halloween episodes of the show and there will even be extra prizes for the best costume — dressing up as The Office’s characters is recommended.
Indigo Halloween Weekend: This kid’s event for ages 5 and up is happening October 26 at Chapters in Southland Mall. This is a free costume event that will feature a Halloween parade, a treasure hunt and the opportunity for kids to make their own colour-changing slime.
Halloween Cabaret Fundraiser: On October 25 at the RCMP Heritage Centre, check out this 19+ event that is also a fundraiser for the non-profit Heritage Centre. Your ticket gets you into an evening of dancing, costumes, food and drink, and activities like a haunted house, escape room and a featured exhibit.
Government House’s Bump in the Night: Bump in the Night is an annual family-friendly event happening October 30 in the evening. Bring your kids in their costumes and enjoy activities and games, plus Halloween-themed tours. Photo credit Government House.
Saskatoon Brings on Halloween Festivities
Local Kitchen themed classes: Sign up for some themed cooking and baking classes at the Local Kitchen, which will get you in the mood for the season! In October, there’s a class featuring all things pumpkin, and a Halloween cookie decorating class, too. Bring what you learn home and make it a family affair by prepping treats for the season.
Halloween Costume Ball: This year, the Park Town Hotel is hosting a Halloween Costume Ball on October 31. The night includes food, drinks and a dance, and costume prizes for the best costume, most unique costume and scariest costume. Be sure to grab your tickets early for this fun evening!
Rocky Horror Picture Show: This Halloween classic will be showing at the Broadway Theatre, and it’s a great opportunity to get dressed up, sing, dance and have a ton of fun! This year, they’re hosting two events October 31: the all ages showing starts at 7 p.m., and the 19+ licensed showing starts at 10:30 p.m.
Dutch Growers’ Pumpkin Maze: Starting at the end of September and running until October 30, Dutch Growers’ annual Pumpkin Maze is on for some family fun. The maze is made out of straw bales and features a scavenger hunt throughout. It’s free to attend and in addition to the maze, there’s a fall-themed photo booth, colouring activities and more.
Rock 102 Halloween Howler: This year’s Halloween Howler is on November 1 and 2 at Coor’s Event Centre. The event features a costume contest, a magic and hypnotism show, great music and even a special guest entertainer.
Halloween Activities in Regina & Saskatoon
Halloween-themed Paint Nite: In both Saskatoon and Regina, check out a Paint Nite, which makes a great girls’ night out, date night, or just something fun to do with friends.
