Music seems to run in families, and this is definitely the case for Saskatchewan country singer, Lisa Moen. Born into a country music family of performers — where she followed her father’s band for years — her passion was to do the same thing. Fast forward to today, Lisa has been performing professionally for more than 15 years, and her father has played bass guitar or drums in her band the entire time!

Mother to two young children, Lisa considers herself a “multi-tasking momma” with a job path that is “not normal.” She is also proud to work with and support other women entrepreneurs from the Saskatoon area. An active member of the Saskatoon Chapter of the SCMA, she has hosted on the red (or green) carpets at recent SCMA and CCMA music award shows in Saskatchewan.

Lisa labels her musical style new and old country with a splash of rock and roll — and it obviously resonates with listeners. Country Girls Rock and Roll aired on radio in July, hitting No. 3 in Canada for Radio Play charts the day after release. She keeps her music “Saskatchewan Made,” from the writing and recording to photos and videos!

There is no doubt that Lisa’s hard work and perseverance is paying off. In 2015, she won the Rising Star Award at the Saskatchewan Country Music Awards (SCMA), and in 2018, won Country Music Person of the Year for Saskatchewan at the SCMAs. She has opened for the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and Trooper, played on the Craven Jamboree mainstage numerous times, and this past May, was the only live act to play at the tailgate party prior to the Eagles Concert in Regina.

Keep your eye on this rising Saskatchewan star!
