When the heat is high and the sun is shining, there’s no better way to cool off than with some delicious ice cream. Regina and Saskatoon have some amazing local options, from gelato and sundaes to hand-crafted ice cream sandwiches and mouth-watering gluten-free and dairy-free options, too. With all the variety, there’s no excuse to not get ice cream. Your main problem will be choosing where to head first!

Find the Best Ice Cream in Regina

Dandy’s Artisan Ice Cream: Dandy’s uses local and seasonal ingredients to create their handcrafted ice cream, one small batch at a time. Delicious and unique flavours include salted caramel, triple chocolate fudge brownie, vegan coconut ash honeycomb and vegan chocolate peanut butter. They also have gluten-friendly flavours, like cereal milk with caramelized bananas and strawberry honeycomb.

Dessert Sweets Ice Cream & Candy Store: Dessert Sweets has a huge variety of treats, including hard and soft ice cream. Their flavoured and spiced soft serve are truly the showstoppers, though; flavours include apple pie, caramel, coconut, pumpkin spice, lemon, coffee and cinnamon. They also do treats like sundaes, milkshakes, parfaits and banana splits.

Milky Way Ice Cream: Aptly named, this local walk-up favourite has an adorable retro vibe. They have creamy soft serve in a variety of flavours, cyclones, sundaes and they even do cakes! They also provide options for dietary restrictions, including a no-sugar-added maple walnut and black cherry, and dairy-free sorbet.

The Moo Shoppe Ice Cream: The Moo Shoppe serves hard and soft ice cream, including flavoured soft-serve. They also have milkshakes, sundaes, floats and slush puppies. Try the cherry sundae, the Oreo cookie or fudge brownie twister, the rum and butter milkshake, or throw it back with a classic root beer float.

Their ice cream is locally-made from Homestead, and their treats include old-fashioned creamy milkshakes, sundaes with all the toppings, and fruit-filled frozen yogurt. Try the pineapple yogurt, the root beer shake, or to make your treat dairy-free, order the yogurt with a banana base.

Their gelato flavours include chocolate mint, chocolate salted peanut, coffee, and vegan sorbetto flavours like banana, pineapple and lemon. They even have chocolate and charcoal waffle cones, and all their cones are vegan and made in-house, too.
