Saluting the North Central Family Centre
To all those readers who follow our articles and columns in this great magazine, Ultimate Insulation in Regina offers something different.
The Ultimate Team is excited to highlight a very special and important organization in our city — the North Central Family Centre (NCFC), which has been serving the needs of our inner city’s most vulnerable youth since 2002.
This incredible organization offers a number of quality programs which support youth-at-risk in our city by creating a positive environment, using the after-school hours to teach leadership skills and help youth deal effectively with the demands and challenges of their daily lives.
The funding model of this organization is often based on the contributions from businesses, individuals, churches and government, along with a significant number of individuals who devote countless hours and provide much-needed volunteerism.
To pursue new avenues for stable funding outside of government and corporate sector funding, the center has embarked on a brand new venture to provide much-needed daycare service within the community. This operation will allow for long-term funding security and improved service levels to the community.
Because NCFC is a non-profit, all donations to support and assist in this endeavour will be greatly appreciated. Individual and small contributions go a long way when paired with industry experts who can contribute their knowledge and skills. We encourage everyone who appreciates the value and importance of the North Central Family Centre and the vital work they do to consider contributing to the sustainability and future programming. All in-kind and cash donations are deeply appreciated. Tax receipts will be issued for all donations.
To date, more than 15,000 children and youth have accessed and benefited from the programs at NCFC, and many have acquired the employment and life skills needed to become productive members of society and leaders in their community. The impact is immeasurable. Lives are being changed as a new generation is empowered in realizing their leadership potential through volunteers, community work projects and social enterprise activities.
It is exciting to watch the community and neighbourhood grow and prosper. We feel a great deal of this change can be contributed to the NCFC Board of Directors, dedicated staff, the incredible cadre of volunteers, and Executive Director, Sandy Wankel. We encourage you to consider supporting this progressive organization.
